The role
We are fully focused and dedicated to implementing the latest technologies in AI and automation to take our organization to the next level. This is a hands-on technical role within Group Business Development in our new AI and Automation team. You will work project-based across the organisation, identifying where AI and automation can drive growth or remove friction, then building and shipping the solution.
You will report to the Group Business Development Manager, who built the current infrastructure. You will scope projects together, but from there the work is yours: choosing the approach, writing the code, deploying it, and supporting it.
Some projects will be straightforward process automation. Others will involve designing new internal tools or integrating AI into existing workflows. The scope is broad by design. What matters is that you can take a problem from understanding through to a working, maintainable solution.
What already exists
We have a working data layer that exposes business data from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (On-prem and online), CRM and PIM through both a REST API and an MCP server. We have an internal AI platform built on Next.js and OpenAI. We have integration patterns, deployment infrastructure, shipped products and real users. Your job is to build on this foundation, extend and improve it.
What you will work on
The specific projects will depend on your strengths and on the strategic direction of the business. Examples of what this could look like:
- Develop and implement AI-powered tools and platforms that support commercial or operational teams.
- Automating manual processes and workflows across internal systems.
- Setting up data pipelines or integrations between internal systems.
- Prototyping and validating new ideas quickly, then implementing what works.
What we are looking for
- Experience building and deploying production software. You have shipped real applications, not just prototypes.
- Strong programming skills in Python, TS/JS or similar.
- Practical experience working with LLM APIs, building AI-powered features, or integrating models into production workflows.
- Comfortable working with APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure.
- Comfortable using AI tools as part of your development workflow. We use them extensively and expect you to as well.
- Ability to operate both independently and in a team environment.
- A genuine personal interest in AI and automation and where the field is heading.
- You do not need to have a formal education within software development, practical experience and results are way more important for us than a piece of paper.
Nice to have
- Experience with data architecture, ETL pipelines or data warehouse design.
- Familiarity with deployment workflows and containerisation.
- Background in or exposure to commercial functions like sales, customer service, after-sales service, pricing or supply chain.
About the team
You will be part of our broader Group Business Development organization responsible for strategy and business development. Our AI, Automation and Platforms team is new, and you will be our first dedicated developer. You will have a lot of autonomy and direct influence on what direction our team will move in.
